Customer: Mike M.

Car: 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier L61 2.2L Ecotec

Story:

At the moment, Mike’s 2003 Cavalier is completely stock minus the tuned ECU. Even in a completely stock car, there’s lots of improvements to be made. You have to remember, the J-body was targeted at everyone from first time car buyers to retirees… there’s lots to tweak inside that computer to get it driving the way you want it.

Modifications:

Innovative Tuning ECU flash.

Short ram intake.

Numbers:

Mike asked to have his car tuned to run on 87 Octane.

Virtual Dyno results. 128 whp & 123 ft/lbs.  Assuming a 20% drivetrain loss through the automatic transmission, that translates to  160 hp & 154 ft/lbs at the crank, a notable improvement from the 140 hp & 150 ft/lbs of a stock L61 Cavalier.

Customer’s Comments:

This is my 2003 Chevy Cavalier z24 4 door. As of right now it only has Shane’s tune, But it has made a hell of a difference already. I hope to have future modification done to it.

Update Oct. 5, 2013.

After years of good reliable service, Mike has decided to retire his Z24 & has sold it.  Hopefully the new owner will have many more miles of good service as well.
